Absorbs and releases moisture.
Silk takes up water vapour and releases it as humidity changes. Its moisture response makes it worth considering if you wake feeling warm and clammy.
LAVE BEDDING / DUVET INSERT
For nights when you wake up sweating.
Long-filament mulberry silk filling in a cotton outer shell. Lighter options for warm sleepers. Made to order.
Why mulberry silk?WHY SILK
Silk takes up water vapour and releases it as humidity changes. Its moisture response makes it worth considering if you wake feeling warm and clammy.
Silk combines insulation with breathability. Pair it with a breathable duvet cover; the filling, shell and cover all contribute to how your bedding feels.
Choose Light if you tend to overheat. More filling adds insulation, so match the amount to your room and how warm you sleep.

THE FILLING
Mulberry silk comes from Bombyx mori silkworms fed on mulberry leaves. Their cocoons produce fine, continuous filaments.
Our filling uses long filaments drawn into broad, fine layers. This construction gives the insert its smooth, close drape and low-bulk feel.
Use with your own removable duvet cover.
THE ESSENTIALS
Silk absorbs and releases water vapour, and a lighter fill can help you avoid excess insulation. Comfort also depends on the shell, duvet cover and room temperature. This insert has not been clinically tested to reduce night sweats.
Overheating and sweat can aggravate eczema. Lighter bedding and a smooth, washable cover that your skin tolerates are worth considering. The silk filling sits inside the insert and your cover.
This insert is not an eczema treatment, and we don’t claim it is allergy-free or certified hypoallergenic. Contact us about materials or care requirements before ordering if you have a known sensitivity.
Long-filament mulberry silk filling, drawn into broad layers, inside a cotton outer shell. Choose 150, 250 or 400 g/m² of silk filling; the displayed filling weight excludes the shell.
Use with your own removable duvet cover. Follow the insert’s care label for cleaning.
One silk-filled duvet insert. Cover, sheets and pillowcases are separate. Match the insert’s measurements to your duvet cover.
Genuinely bespoke dimensions are excluded from change-of-mind returns where the law allows. Standard-size orders retain applicable cancellation rights. Your rights for faulty, damaged or incorrectly described items always remain.
Use a removable duvet cover and wash the cover regularly.
Air every few weeks. As a general guide, air the insert for 2–4 hours every 2–4 weeks in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight. In damp weather, choose a dry indoor space rather than airing outside.
Allow longer if needed. After storage or if the insert feels damp, continue airing until completely dry. Drying time depends on humidity, temperature and airflow; these timings are a guide, not a fixed drying time.
Clean and store with care. Follow the insert’s care label before washing, spot cleaning or dry cleaning. Avoid high-heat drying. After any permitted cleaning, allow it to dry fully before use or storage. Store only when completely dry.
Silk is an animal-derived fibre. Its moisture response does not guarantee a cooler night; the complete duvet matters.

BEDDING GUIDES
A NOTE FROM ZEYANG
I grew up in rural south-east China, in a middle-class family. We had cotton duvets and down duvets, but when spring or autumn arrived, we would bring out the silk ones.
Every time, getting into bed felt like a small luxury again. The lightness, the way the duvet settled around me, the comfort without all that bulk—it was something I always looked forward to.
Silk was part of childhood, too. I kept silkworms as pets, gathered mulberry leaves to feed them, and watched them slowly spin themselves into cocoons. Long before I thought about materials or bedding, silk already meant something familiar and close to home.
That is why I wanted to bring silk duvets to Lave. What can feel like an unfamiliar luxury elsewhere was an ordinary, treasured part of life in our home. I want to share that experience, with clear information about the filling, the weight and what you are paying for.
We spend so much time measuring our sleep now—tracking it with watches, rings and apps. I think there is also something worth rediscovering in the simple comfort of what we sleep under.
For me, silk is a small pleasure I have known for years. I would love more people to experience it.
